• PNP-Calabarzon assures expressway security


    CAMP VICENTE LIM: The Philippine National Police in Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Quezon (Calabarzon) and the Association of Pilipinas Shell Dealers, Inc. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to prevent crimes like robbery that victimizes gasoline stations and the community in general within the region. They agreed that gas retail stations shall provide appropriate space that can serve as police standby area for patrolling policemen, initiate local dialogues every quarter of the year to discuss security situation, share ideas on how to improve crime prevention awareness and provide intelligence information, provide space for police-community billboards where police can post announcements, posters of wanted persons, and distribute crime prevention leaflets to the public. Police, in return, shall utilize the standby areas as extension of the Police Community Precincts or Police Assistance Centers, check/choke-point and drug net operations areas, drop-off point for relief goods during calamities and as an assembly area for police-related activities. Calabarzon Regional Director Jesus Gatchalian said the MOU will be enforced for five years.
