PNP chief holds successful pep talk with non-commissioned officers

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor on Saturday announced the success of PNP Director General Ricardo Marquez’s Friday dialogue with Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCO) in Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.

Mayor said in a statement that, during the dialogue, the PNP chief discussed arising issues and concerns of PNCOs with the Executive Senior Police Officers (ESPO) of National Support Units, Regional and District Levels, Chief Clerks and other top Senior PNCOs from the different Regional Police Offices in the country including his plans and programs in the PNP.

He said the PNP chief also emphasized the importance of crime prevention as the PNP’s main focus in daily police operations, morale and welfare of PNCO’s, meritocracy and even the response of police leaderships on erring policemen.

“I want our Executive Senior Police Officers or ESPOs to lead our PNCOs in helping raise the level of police community partnerships. They will report crime incidents, they will seek police assistance, [and]they are the people who can tell us what is going on in their streets and communities.” Mayor said quoting the PNP chief.

The PNP spokesman added that the PNP chief is urging all the PNCOs to develop closer ties and collaborations with various sectors especially to the community.

Marquez also emphasized that the PNP’s Oplan Lambat-Sibat brought impressive results with the help of police force, especially PNCOs on the field.

“Pagbutihin natin ang pagsulong ng Oplan Lambat-Sibat sa ating mga lugar at lubusang tanggalin ang takot sa mga puso ng ating mga kababayan [Let us keep on pushing through with Oplan Lambat-Sibat in our community and eliminate fear in the hearts of our countrymen].” the PNP Chief also added in the statement.

Senior officers, particularly SPO4 Juanito Dimaculangan, Chief Executive Senior Police Officer (CESPO) of PNP, expressed their gratitude to the PNP Chief for finding time to meet with PNCOs on Friday.

  1. I am bias to “open door policies” as far as vertical and horizontal lines relationship is concerned among workers – senior-junior, or lateral relationships.
Brilliant initiative on the part of the new Chief, PNP.
I wish to conclude this blurb by making a commentary using our national language:
Angkop talaga ang apelyedo ni SPO4 Dimaculangan. ‘Di sia nagkulang sa kanyang gawain at katungkulan. Bagay na bagay ah…
