• PNP: Gun ban violators increasing


    THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said that the number of persons apprehended for violating the nationwide election gun ban continues to rise, with civilians being the most number of violators. The PNP National Election Monitoring Action Center (NEMAC) update has placed the total number of persons apprehended at 2,287, of which 2,204 were civilians. Seized were a total 1,697 firearms – 564 pistols; 520 revolvers; 95 shotguns; 89 rifles; 82 class-A weapons; four class B weapons; and 343 improvised firearms.
