• PNP launches mobile app for crime reporting

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) recently launched a mobile application “Itaga Mo Sa Bato” App (PNP Reporting App)/ Police Quick Response System intended to supplement the national Emergency Hotline 911.
Senior Supt. Dionardo Carlos, PNP spokesman, said the mobile android app has accessible buttons–the first allows users to send text reports via SMS or the Internet and the second button allows auto calls on Emergency Hotline 911. For situations where victims do not have the opportunity to make a call, a press of the Police Alert App will alert the server at the PNP Command Center indicating the nature of emergency, name and address of establishment, contact number of reporter, contact number of nearest police/fire station and other vital information.
