THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday opened for bidding three separate multi-million contracts for supply and delivery of more than 15,000 standard-issue rifles and 200,000 units of magazines for its different operational units nationwide.

The PNP Bids and Awards Committee published two bid invitations for the procurement of thousands of new rifles with one contract involving 1,819 basic 5.56mm basic rifles for its Capability Enhancement program and another for another 13,663 of the same type of firearms for its Operational Transformation Program.
