PNP, Petron inks MOA for expanded ‘Lakbay Ligtas’

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Petron Corp., in expanding its ‘Lakbay Ligtas’ project, first initiated in July 2015 in 10 service stations in Mega Manila. PNP spokesman, Senior Supt. Dionardo Carlos said that Petron has offered its 300 service stations nationwide to cater to police services to the public. Outposts to be installed in the gas stations will be patrolled by two police officers with a minimum of one hour daily and will be utilized by investigators attending complaints and other concerns. “The outposts will also be used as a place for posting and distribution of crime prevention leaflets, and drop-off points for relief goods during calamities,” Carlos said.
