THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday began investigating a police officer who remains in active duty despite his dismissal from service. Chief Supt. Reuben Theodore Sindac, PNP public information chief, said the PNP Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM) is probing Supt. Napoleon Cauyan, a former chief of the Traffic Management Group in Central Luzon who still introduces himself as a policeman. Sindac warned the public not to transact with Cauyan on matters related to the PNP. Cauyan became controversial when he was dismissed in 1993 but managed to return in 2001. He was dismissed again in 2008 for faking his records to enter the PNP.
