THE Anti-Cyber Crime Group (ACG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has started investigating the uploading of a video showing how Muslim rebels finished off wounded police commandos in Mamasapano,
PNP spokesman Chief Supt. Generoso Cerbo Jr., said the ACG will track down the persons responsible for the uploading of the video that went viral on Facebook and other social networking sites.
The video that showed Muslim rebels firing at fallen members of the Special Action Force of the PNP was uploaded on Wednesday. One of those seen being shot in the head was later identified
as PO2 Danny Suhayo.
On Friday, another video surfaced showing some MILF rebels staging an ambush against SAF commandos in Mamasapano.
Cerbo said the PNP is coordinating with other law enforcement agencies such as the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in its probe. He said the NBI has identified the person who uploaded the video.
“The NBI has made a breakthrough in its investigation such as who is
behind the uploading of the video but I still don’t have a copy of
their report,” Cerbo said in a press briefing.
The PNP spokesman appealed to people who may have other videos of
the encounter in Mamasapano not to share it on social media out of respect for the families of the slain police commandos.(Anthony Vargas)
