PNP REQUIRES COPS TO UNDERGO MARKSMANSHIP TEST

ZAMBOANGA CITY: More than half of the 300 policemen under the Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) will not be issued a firearm after they failed to pass the gun proficiency test on Monday. The gun proficiency test was conducted after the Philippine National Police (PNP) has required its personnel as well as newly recruited policemen to pass first the marksmanship test before they would be issued a service firearm. PRO-9 logistics chief Sr. Supt. Edwin de Ocampo said the PNP has adopted the rule to ensure that the PNP-issued guns are in good hands.
