SEN. Grace Poe on Sunday said she can help continue President Benigno Aquino 3rd “tuwid na daan” advocacy even if she does not become president as she maintained that there are more deserving presidential candidates in 2016.
Poe, who trailed Vice President Jejomar Binay in the recent survey on the most popular choice for president in the 2016 election, said that while she appreciates the support and trust given to her by the public, she doesn’t want to be distracted from her duties as a legislator.
“I think I’m not the only one being considered, I’m sure there are a lot of others who may have the desire to do it or even the capability, in my case, I don’t have to be in the top position, wherever I am, all of us, wherever we are we can help in this straight and narrow path, it doesn’t have to be in just be in one particular position,” Poe said.
“Right now I’m not considering any particular commitment except that I think that whatever the President has started, whoever will be the candidate, should be able to continue that. I think that we should fight corruption,” she added.
