AUTHORITIES don’t see the operation of the Mexican Sinaloa drug ring flourishing in the country because it doesn’t have a direct network in the Philippines that would carry it out, a lawmaker disclosed Monday.

Senator Grace Poe, chair of the Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs, said that based on the information given to her by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) the Mexican drug cartel doesn’t have a direct link or network in the country and it is still trying to establish one when authorities raided its storage facility at a ranch in Batangas province last December.
