INDEPENDENT presidential candidate Sen. Grace Poe promised the people of Manila that she will pursue her dream to provide more decent jobs for them if she is given a chance to lead the country.
Speaking before residents of Manila during a general assembly of Kaagapay group held at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Malate district, Poe on Monday assured that the people can trust her and her running mate Sen. Francis ”Chiz” Escudero to run the government because they will not steal from them.
According to her, they will not be involved in any form of graft and corruption, paving the way for peace and order and the creation of more jobs.
“Makakaasa kayo sa isang gobyernong may puso ni Sen. Chiz at ng inyo pong lingkod, na dadami ang trabaho dito, at tataas ang sweldo ninyo [Rest assured that under the government with a heart of Sen. Chiz and myself, there will be more jobs here and salary will increase],” she said.
Poe added that her Gobyernong May Puso will continue and expand the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and provide free tuition for students in public universities and colleges, among others.
She called on the people not to believe rumors that the 4Ps will be discontinued once she and Escudero are elected, pointing out that it will not happen under a government with a heart.
Escudero said they will make the CCT Program unconditional for disaster victims so that they can immediately avail of financial assistance from the government.
Similar to the program implemented in other countries, the unconditional cash transfer (UCT) program here will provide assistance to residents of communities displaced by calamities without any condition.
The Manila rally was organized by Kaagapay, a group of supporters of Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, a senatorial bet under the Poe-Escude-ro tandem.
Also present at the rally and who spoke of their respective platforms and advocacies were other Senate aspirants under Partido Galing at Puso: party-list Rep. Neri Colmenares, Susan “Toots” Ople and Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo.
