THE leader of the 200,000-strong Federation of Free Workers (FFW) on Monday said his group will not support Sen. Grace Poe if she runs for president next year because she is not ripe for the position.
Sonny Matula, FFW president, said Poe will not get a vote from FFW members because they do not believe that she is capable to lead the country.
Matula said Poe has not done enough to prove herself. He noted that the senator’s stint as chief of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) and three years in the Senate are not enough to prove that she is ready for the presidency.
He added that Poe has not filed a single bill that will serve the interests, protection, and rights of Filipino workers.
Poe has yet to announce if she will run in next year’s polls.
The Liberal Party (LP) that adopted Poe in 2013 has declared Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II as its standard-bearer.
