• Police blotter indicates Vhong is liable for attempted rape – SPD chief

IF the police blotter is to be believed upon by investigators, comedian-actor Ferdinand “Vhong” Navarro is held liable for attempted rape, according to  Southern Police District (SPD) Chief Supt. Jose Erwin Villacorte.

Villacorte on Monday said that based on the blotter signed by Navarro, Cedric Cua Lee, Bernice Cua Lee and Denice Milinette Cornejo, the television-actor was reported to having committed an attempted rape.

He said the parties went on the SPD’s Investigation and Detective Management Division at about 11:49 p.m. on January 22 to report the alleged incident for “record purposes only.”

“In that blotter, Vhong is possibly held liable for attempted rape because he allegedly attempted to rape the girl,” he told The Manila Times in an interview.

However, Villacorte pointed out that there was no any complaint filed before them against Navarro since the reporting of the incident was done for record purposes only.

“It is just a simple blotter for record purposes because nobody would like to file a case,” he added.

He likewise defended the move of the SPD desk officers, who recorded the blotter saying that they were just performing their tasks.

One of the desk officers, PO3 Dalmacio Lumuian said they recorded the incident in their blotter as both parties already settled not to file complaints against each other.

He added that Cornejo told them that she will not be filing any complaint against Navarro and that they reported the incident for “record purposes only.”

“The girl manifested that she will not be filing any case against Navarro so we did not turn her over to the Women’s desk anymore,” he added.

According to the police blotter, while Cornejo was alone inside her unit at Forbeswood Heights condominium in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City, Navarro arrived at about 10:30 p.m.

“However, while inside, the suspect suddenly held the hands and pulled the hair of the complainant forcing her to lay down on the chair. At that instance, sensing the evil motive of the suspect, the complainant fight back and was able to run to her room but the suspect followed,” the blotter stated.

The SPD has turned-over the investigation of the incident to the Taguig City Police, which has jurisdiction over BGC.

As they started their formal investigation, Taguig Police Chief Senior Supt. Arthur Felix Asis on Monday threatened the security agency and the administrators of the Forbeswood Heights that they will be slapped with administrative and criminal charges if they refused to cooperate.

“After [Navarro’s] interview, we were tasked by our regional director to take charge in investigating this case. We are now conducting an investigation and we have already communicated with Forbeswood Heights to cooperate with us regarding this incident. If they fail, then we have to charge them criminally or administratively,” he said.

Asis said they have required the administrators of the condominium and its security agency to provide them the necessary documents that will help resolve the case.

“We have required them to produce the CCTV footage from January 22 until January 25 because we might be able to find something that could help in our investigation,” he said.

Besides the CCTV footage, the Taguig Police also directed the condo administrator to provide them the logbook to check on who really visited Cornejo’s unit.

He also called on the aggrieved parties to come forward since no formal complaints have been made yet.

“We want this case to be resolved at the least possible time. We still have to get the cooperation of the aggrieved party,” he added.

    1. CCTV is the best defence on both parties whose telling the truth then the logbook who visited the condo at what time. But the problem it’s hard to solve the pieces of the puzzle if the security guards will not give the logbook, and the condo owner doesnot like to give the CCTV footage.
