• Police burn P6-M marijuana plants in Kalinga


    La Trinidad, Benguet: At least P6 million worth of full grown marijuana plants were burned by anti-drug operatives during a raid in a 4,000 square meter plantation in remote Buscalan village, Tinglayan, Kalinga during a raid over the weekend. Cordillera police director Chief Supt. Isagani Nerez said joint operatives from the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) uprooted more than 30,000 marijuana plants. Nerez said that his command will continue its fight against the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region and almost 85 percent of their campaign had been implemented in arresting illegal drug pushers.
