FIFTEEN policemen that acted as security escorts for the two leaders of the Ozamis gang slain in Laguna were ordered relieved late Tuesday afternoon.
PNP chief, Director General Alan Purisima ordered the relief amid the outcry that two leaders of the robbery gang were victims of a rubout.
Purisima also directed the PNP Directorate for Investigative and Detective Management (DIDM) to investigate the incident.
The names of the relieved officers were not released.
Killed in the incident Monday evening in at Barangay San Antonio, San Pedro, Laguna were Ozamis gang boss Ricky Cadavero and Wilfredo Panolinga Jr.
The two were being escorted back to Calamba City after coming from Dasmarinas, Cavite, when the escorts were attacked by motorcycle riding gunmen.
