When the PNP is on full alert, all leaves of police personnel are cancelled and they are on 24-hour duty.

In the statement, PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima has ordered the extensive security coverage before, during and after the observance of the All Saint’s Day and All Soul’s day the next weekend.

The police expects thousands of people to flock to cemeteries, churches, transport terminals and other public places during All Saint’s and All Soul’s.

Purisima instructed all police regional commanders and provincial regional commanders as well as the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) to post marshals in major thoroughfares, routes leading to cemeteries and bus terminals.

He also gave orders to secure all power plants and telecommunication facilities and other vital installations against possible attacks by the communist New People’s Army (NPA).
