THE Philippine National Police (PNP) will monitor criminal elements like drug traffickers and street gangs in schools, which start classes on Monday, June 4, Director General Oscar Albayalde said on Saturday.

"Of priority concern to the PNP are incidents of street crimes such as pickpocket, snatching, swindling, robbery/hold-up, and street-level drug trafficking," said Albayalde of their Oplan Ligtas Balik-Eskwela 2018 that would look out for the estimated 29 million private and public students.
