Police kill gunman who attack patrol


ZAMBOANGA CITY: Police forces killed a gunman who opened fire on a police car in Mala-ngas town in Zamboanga Sibugay province. Officials said that 35-year-old Nonoy Pangilan was killed during a pursuit operation shortly after he attacked the prowl car. No one was killed or wounded on the police side. Chief Insp. Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman, said Pangilan was believed to be involved in a spate of gun attacks in the town. The A .45-caliber pistol and two magazines were recovered from Pangilan.
