• Police nab drug-pushing trike drivers


    SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union: A tricycle driver was nabbed by anti-narcotics police Thursday night in an entrapment operation. It was the second principal arrest involving tricycle drivers, who are considered a sector vulnerable to the influence of drug syndicates. Police Sr. Superintendent Angelito Dumangeng, provincial police director said Romeo Nisperos Jr., 35, of Barangay Calingcamasan, San Juan, La Union was arrested in Brgy. San Vicente in a buy-bust operation. The police seized from him some heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu, one .22-caliber pistol with six live ammunitions, one fan knife and a motorcycle used in his operations. Dumangeng said that Nisperos is a  High Value Target, under the Oplan:Lambat-Sibat and was the leader of his gang.
