Police nab two rebels for murder charges in Albay


POLICE arrested two members of New People’s Army (NPA) rebel group who are facing murder charges in Tabaco City, Albay province, police reports said on Thursday.

Reports from the national operations center of Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camp Crame said that the arrested rebels were identified as Bienvenido Paladin alias “Ka Ronald” or “Ka Benjie and a certain Buddy Silva. The report ded that the two were arrested by joint forces of the police and military at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Barangay Buang in Tabaco City.

Police said that the two already have an existing warrant of arrest for four counts of murder with no bail recommended by the court.

Reports said the arrested rebels are now in the custody of Legazpi City police for proper disposition before being turned over to the courts. ANTHONY VARGAS
