Police officer in Alvarado son’s accident faces charges


CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan: Attempted murder case is being readied by the family of the son of Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado against the driver who allegedly intended to crash the victim’s car on Sunday along Manila North Road in this city. The vehicle of Jose Antonio “Jonathan” Sy-Alvarado was reportedly tailed and intentionally bumped head-on at high speed by a car being driven by Police Officer 3 Marlon Calderon of Bulacan PNP-Operation Unit, in Barangay Longos. The young Sy-Alvarado sustained injuries in the head and different parts of the body and is now undergoing treatment at the UST Hospital in Manila. With the victim were his personal assistant Jherico Christian and Bernadine Cantillan, driver/ security escort. Police said that Calderon, who was with a female barangay employee when the collision happened, was drunk. Aside from attempted murder case, cases of reckless imprudence resulting to multiple injuries and damage to property will also be filed against Calderon.
