SOME Forty women, including minors, were rescued Wednesday in a series of separate operations in Bacoor, Makati and Taguig cities, a police official said Thursday. The joint Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and Anti-Transnational Crime Unit (ATCU) operation also resulted to the arrest of two illegal recruiters. CIDG Dir. Benjamin Magalong identified the suspected illegal recruiters as Pretty Mary Mahamud alias Perla Lagarde and Nilda Binondo. Magalong said the victims, who came from the provinces of Palawan and Dumaguete, were detained by the suspects and were prohibited from using their cellphones or leaving the raided premises. Magalong added that the women were promised by the AFT International Manpower Services with domestic jobs in the Middle East.
