THE Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force (AIDSOTF) on Monday said it will ask the assistance of school officials to intensify campaign against illegal drug syndicates victimizing students. PNP-AIDSOTF spokesman Chief Insp. Roque Merdegia said PNP-AIDSOTF Chief Sr. Supt. Bartolome Tobias has ordered his men to pursue drug pushers operating near school establishments. Merdeguia said the move was in response to the directive of PNP Chief Director General Alan Purisima to protect students going back to school. Merdeguia said the PNP-AIDSOTF is urging school administrators to cooperate with the PNP and other agencies to come up with a solution against the menace of drug syndicates. The PNP-AIDSOTF is on alert on the information that the syndicates were already using students as drug courier to widen their operation.
