Police undergo surprise drug testing

MEMBERS of the PNP Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF) on Thursday underwent a surprise illegal drug testing as part of a campaign to weed out personnel using illegal drugs. “If some of our men will be found tested positive for illegal drug use… we will not hesitate to have them remove from their position and will file the appropriate administrative charges against them,” AIDSOTF chief Senior Supt. Benjamin Lusad told reporters in Camp Crame. Under PNP law, policemen, especially members of the anti-drug unit are required to undergo drug testing at least twice apart for drug testing required for training and promotion.
