Policeman in Bulacan robbery falls

A POLICE officer from Bulacan, said to be one of the suspects in a supermarket robbery in San Ildefonso, has been arrested by police operatives, officials said on Thursday.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman, Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor, identified the policeman as Police Officer 3 Nolasco Juan, detailed with the Bulacan Provincial Public Safety Company.

Juan was arrested by his colleagues inside the company’s headquarters at Camp General Alejo Santos in Malolos City on Tuesday.

Witnesses have identified Juan as one of the three suspects who snatched a bag from a bank employee containing an undetermined amount of money from Savemore Supermarket in Brgy. Poblacion, San Ildefonso, Bulacan on Dec. 14.

Bank employee Joan Gallido told investigators she was on her way to the supermarket with security guard Ramon Dimalanta when one of the suspects grabbed the bag she was holding. During the commotion, two other suspects appeared, punched Dimalanta several times, before fleeing on board two motorcycles.
