Policewoman robbed by three armed men in Iloilo


A policewoman was held-up by three armed men on Monday dawn and took her service pistol and cash while she was waiting for a bus ride in a remote village in Balasan town, Iloilo province, police reports said on Tuesday.

Reports at the PNP national operations center in Camp Crame identified the policewoman as PO2 Wella Grace Teves, detailed with Batad Municipal Police Station.

The reports said that the robbery incident took place at about 4:35am at a waiting shed along a national highway at Barangay Ipil, Balasan where the victim was waiting for a bus ride to Iloilo City.

While waiting, the policewoman was approached by three suspects and declared a hold-up prompting her to drew her 9mm service pistol, but was grappled by the other suspects, the reports said.

The reports said the policewoman was disarmed by the suspects and took her service pistol; important documents and cash amounting to P3,500 and then fled onboard a motorcycle towards the direction of Barangay Tuingi-an. Anthony Vargas
