Pope Francis on Sunday extended his condolences to the family of the volunteer who died in Tacloban when a scaffolding near the altar crashed down on her shortly after the pontiff celebrated Mass at the airport.

Fr. Federico Lombardi, the director of the Holy See Press Office, said in a press briefing that the Pope was informed about the death of the 21-year-old woman, who was a volunteer from Samar.
