Months before the visit of Pope Francis to the Philippines, papal souvenirs are already available in some Catholic outlets.
A staff at the Saint Paul’s Catholic Book Store who refused to disclose her identity on Monday said desk calendars are the most patronized papal merchandise in their store.
She added that the calendars are sought out by customers who find them affordable even at P44, P75 or P142 apiece.
Papal T-shirts at P250 each are also available at Saint Paul’s book store.
Santo Domingo Store in Quezon City is also selling T-shirts with the official papal visit logo for P230 each, calendars at P60 each and rosary at P320 each.
Pope Francis will be in the Philippines in early January next year.
He is expected to dine with some survivors of Typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban City, Leyte, among other highlights of his trip to the country.
The city in Central Visayas was hit the hardest by Yolanda, which struck the country on November 13, 2013.
