Time and again, Porsche has realized new concepts when it comes to training and offers ten different technical and commercial professional training courses. One of these concepts include knowledge acquisition through its internship program. The technical-industrial apprentices in particular, will train under conditions that are unique in the industry. Porsche’s apprenticeship program not only focus on specialist knowledge acquisition conducted in the training center in Germany, but also gives special emphasis on its practical application through immersion and interpersonal skills development.
Through Porsche’s internship program, the students are given the opportunity to work in various Porsche organizations such as Porsche Center Philippines and the Porsche Training and Recruitment Center Asia (PTRCA). Here, the Porsche apprentices from Germany are given hands-on training and technical skill acquisition by the Porsche Philippines After Sales team’s technical experts who are internationally trained and certified, together with the local technical vocational scholars from PTRCA. This enables the students to learn as a team and also get a first impression on their future careers with Porsche. To date, around 48 apprentices have been trained in Manila.
This year, Porsche has further invested in its superior apprenticeship training program and has opened one of the most advanced training centers in the automotive industry.
The new training center creates the best conditions to prepare the next generation of young professionals for the rapidly rising challenges in the automotive industry. From 2011 to 2014, the number of career entrants at Porsche has risen by 50 per cent to 450 at present. Porsche promises all apprentices and students a permanent job guarantee upon the completion of their training.
“The construction of the training center in Zuffenhausen is not only a clear commitment to our site in Stuttgart,” said Matthias Muller, president and chief executive officer of Porsche AG. “With it, we have also laid the foundation for ensuring that our superior training will continue in the future. That is how perspectives open up – for the young generation and for ourselves. After all, we owe the high level of innovative strength of the Porsche brand, above all, to our outstandingly trained co-workers.”
Developing and advancing in the company is another vital aspect that is no less important. Under the heading of “lifelong learning,” Porsche offers a comprehensive training program even after the apprenticeship. “Porsche is aware of its responsibility as one of the most important employers in the region, meets the growing requirements of its workforce and invests with this high-tech building systematically in the future of the up-and-coming Porsche generation. It is not for nothing that Porsche is rated one of the most attractive employers in Germany,” said Thomas Edig, member of the Executive Board for Human Resources and Social Affairs of Porsche AG.
