• Port congestion not caused by BOC alone

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) cried foul over reports that port congestion in Manila had contributed to the increase in prices of imported meat products in the country. BOC spokeswoman Charo Logarta on Thursday said it is not fair to blame them for the port congestion, saying, without elaborating, that other factors had caused it. She added that importers, brokers and the government should instead work together to find ways in decongesting port areas. The importers said hat prices of some imported meat products had gone up because of the unresolved port congestion in Manila.
