Power firm funds tennis court rehab


ILOILO CITY: La Paz Plaza of this town is a recipient of a P2 million assistance from Global Business Power Corp. (GBPC) for the rehabilitation of its existing tennis court. A memorandum of agreement (MOA) was signed between Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, GBCP Executive Vice President Jaime Azurin and GBPC Panay Vice President Petronilo Madrid for the assistance to rehabilitate the only public tennis court inside the plaza. La Paz is known in the city sports development as it hosts facilities not only for lawn tennis but also all other ball sports. The power firm owns Panay Energy Development Corp., the first coal-fired power plant in Western Visayas and the diesel-fueled Panay Power Corp.
