DINALUPIHAN: Power outage hit four towns in Bataan on Monday after the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Monday cut off supply to local power distributor Peninsula Electric Cooperative (Pelco) to repair transmission lines.
Hermosa, Orani and Samal were without electricity from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. while Dinalupihan’s brownout lasted from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Joey Bantugan, supervisor of the Penelco district office in Dinalupihan, said the power outage resulted from scheduled repairs of transmission lines at its substation in Balsik, Hermosa.
Ernest Vidal, NGCP regional corporate communications officer, said the power interruption will facilitate the replacement of Bus A 69KV transformer and re-charging of SF6gas of breaker 58HM4 in their Hermosa substation.
“This is simultaneous with Penelco’s transmission line works along the Hermosa – Balanga 69V line,” Vidal said.
“Isinabay na rin ng Penelco ang replacement ng mga bulok na poste, insulators at cut offs bilang paghahanda sa palapit na tag-ulan [Penelco also replaced old posts, insulators and cut offs to prepare for the coming rains],” Bantugan said.
