ORANI, Bataan: The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Wednesday cut off power service in three towns in Bataan to undertake preventive maintenance in its sub-station in barangay Balsik in Hermosa town. Ernest Lorenz Vidal, NGCP public affairs officer, said the maintenance work was necessary to prevent more power shutdowns. The towns affected by the power outage are Samal, Orani, Hermosa, Abucay, Pilar, Orion, Limay, Mariveles, Bagac and Morong and the City of Balanga. The Peninsula Electric Cooperative, power distributor in Bataan, used the nine-hour power outage to replace worn-out wooden posts and cleared power lines of hanging tree branches. The NGCP also announced that some towns in Nueva Ecija would experience up to eight hours of power interruption on Friday, November 6, that would affect the customers of Nueva Ecija Electric Cooperative (NEECO II- Area 2) and NEECO 1. Vidal said the power outage is implemented to facilitate clearing of critical vegetation and corrective maintenance works along Cabanatuan-San Isidro 69kilovolt line 1 and 2.
