The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) announced that power has been restored in most parts of Ilocos Norte which was badly battered by Typhoon “Vinta” last week.
It added that efforts are still ongoing to restore power to parts of Apayao and Cagayan provinces.
As of 3 p.m. Sunday, the NDRRMC said all circuits in Ilocos Norte were energized and “about 85 percent of households have electricity.”
The NDRRMC also said the death toll remained at three, while two are still missing.
It said at least 44,555 families or 220,443 people were affected in 537 villages in 39 towns and one city in five provinces of Ilocos, Cagayan Valley and Cordillera.
Of these, 13,272 families or 65,946 people were displaced.
As of 6 p.m. Sunday, 3,574 houses were destroyed while 28,220 were damaged in Ilocos Norte, Cagayan and Apayao. PNA
