PPCI executive facing deportation raps

An executive of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) is facing deportation raps before the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for allegedly faking his Filipino citizenship. The case against Joseph Cue Sy, a member of the PCCI board and of the group’s mining industry committee, is now pending with the BI’s legal department for comment and recommendation. Sy is also the registered owner of the Global Ferronickel Holdings Inc., the third-largest nickel producer in the Philippines, and Platinum Group Metals Corp. The BI has dismissed the case against Sy last February 26, but the complainant, a certain Nestro Cas of Olangapo City, filed an omnibus motion for reconsideration.
