Pray together, eat together and spend more time with each other.

This was the message of Pope Francis to families on Friday during his encounter with hundreds of families at the Mall of Asia.

The pontiff said Filipino families should pray together if they want to stay together.

He noted that the most important people in his life is his family, particularly his grandmother who reminded him to stay humble.

He urged every Filipino family to follow the example of Saint Joseph who showed love and protected Jesus from what he called “colonizations.”

The Holy Father was referring to the people who wanted to hurt Jesus right after he was born, prompting him to bring Mary and her son away from Jerusalem.

He urged all Filipino families to eat together and spend more time together.

The pontiff also asked every parent to dream for the future of his or her child.

He also gave a tip on how to resolve a family problem.

He said every time he has a problem, he would write the problem on a piece of paper, place it under his pillow, and ask Saint Joseph to reveal the solution.

    1. The Holy Father said that whenever he has a problem, he writes his concern on a piece of paper, folds it and places it under the sleeping statue of St. Joseph that is on his desk. The Holy Father beleives that the sleeping St. Joseph while resting will bring his concerns to the heavens since resting is a form of prayer.
