Vice Ganda claims his movie will become No. 1 in the MMFF

Without batting an eyelash, comedian Vice Ganda expressed confidence in his film The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin, even as it goes head-to-head with movies featuring fellow box office stars like Kris Aquino and Vic Sotto.

“Hindi ako ninenerbyos sa kung sinong ang mangunguna—wala,” he said at a press conference this week. “Hindi ako ninenerbyos. Hindi pa. Tingnan natin baka sa first week nerbyosin ako.”

The comedian banks on his faith that the movie will do well at the tills, just like his previous outings.

“Kine-claim ko lagi,” he declared.

He recalled that in 2013, he claimed that Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy would earn P400 million. It raked in P436 million.

For The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin, he is claiming a box office return of P600 million.

The film’s predecessor, The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin, was the first Filipino film to hit the P300 million mark in the box office.

In this sequel, Benjie Santos 8th (Vice) gets an unlikely mission: To be the personal bodyguard of a boy named Bimbee (Bimby Aquino Yap), who holds the key to dismantling a bomb, which villain Janjaranjan (Tom Rodriguez) has threatened to launch to wipe out the country. Bimbee is the son of General Wilson Chua (Richard Yap).

. . katulad ng problema ng terorismo,” shared Direk Wenn of the sequel’s storyline.

A co-production between Star Cinema and Viva Films, The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin also stars Kean Cipriano, Ricky Rivero, DJ Durano, Jojit Lorenzo, Malou de Guzman, Al Tantay, and Eddie Garcia.

The movie opens on December 25 as an entry to the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival.
