President Benigno Aquino 3rd has appointed his second cousin, Emigdio Tanjuatco 3rd, as president and chief executive officer of the Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC).
Tanjuatco will replace Victor Jose Luciano, who has been appointed director of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, according to his appointment papers signed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. on August 27.
Tanjuatco is the son of former Rizal congressman Emilio Sumu-long Tanjuatco Jr., first cousin of President Aquino’s mother, the late former President Corazon Aquino.
The younger Tanjuatco, 35, is a lawyer and used to be a member of the Rizal provincial board.
President Aquino also signed the nomination papers of Alipio Fernandez Jr. and Ramil Guiao as members of the board of directors of the CIAC.
The newly appointed airport officials will hold the post until June 30, 2015.
