Preventive maintenance causes 9-hour brownouts

HERMOSA, Bataan: The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Wednesday placed on an annual preventive maintenance its 100 MVA transformer in Hermosa, Bataan, cutting power supply for nine hours to Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani and Samal towns. NGCP District Head Napoleon Viterbo said the maintenance was done to prevent power outages in the coming months. The power shutdown also allowed the Peninsula Electric Cooperative (Penelco) to do its transmission line works in the Hermosa—Balanga 69 KV Line.
