• Prima Pasta Badminton tourney fires off March 1


    A total of 1,000 entries including national players from different parts of the country will compete in the seventh Prima Pasta Badminton Championship on March 1, 2, 8 and 9 at the Powersmash Badminton Court in Pasong Tamo, Makati City.

    Filipino standouts Joper Escueta, Antonino Gadi, Gelita Castilo and Marco Bermejo as well as Indonesian Rudy Widjaya and Chinese Lili Wang are the top guns joining the four-day national competition sanctioned by the Philippine Badminton Association (PBA).

    In partnership with the PBA, the annual event is part of the Philippine National Ranking System that grants points to rank aspirants in the Open Division.

    The tournament presented by SMART Communications through MVP Sports Foundation will include the following events:  men’s doubles and mixed doubles (from open class to Levels A to G), open class (Levels B to F, available in the women’s doubles), boys and girls’ singles events (under 19, 17, 15 and 13 categories), and boys and girls doubles (under 19, 17 and under 15).
