State prosecutors on Wednesday filed their opposition to former First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo’s request for the Sandiganbayan to let him travel abroad. The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) stated that Arroyo “undertook himself available at all times to this Honorable Court.” Arroyo’s trip to England, Scotland, France and Italy from May 17 to June 10 is outside the jurisdiction of the court, rendering his move illegal. The OSP added that his right to travel in accordance with Article III, Section 6 of the Constitution is not absolute and that “there are constitutional, statutory and inherent limitations regulating the right to travel.”
