Protect Aquino, police, military urged

SENATOR Panfilo Lacson on Monday called on the military and police to protect former President Benigno Aquino 3rd following reports that the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army issued an order for his arrest in connection with the violent dispersal of protesters in Kidapawan last year.

According to Lacson, it is the responsibility of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to protect the former president and all those placed in the liquidation list of the CPP-NPA.

The senator said only a court of law can issued arrest warrants.

Apart from Aquino, also ordered arrested by communist rebels were North Cotabato Gov. Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza, Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista, North Cotabato Representative Nancy Catamco and military and police officials involved in the incident.

The communist rebel group claimed that Aquino and the other respondents committed “war crimes, crimes against humanity and other serious violations of international human rights law.”

A farmer was killed and 13 others were injured when police dispersed a protest action in Kidapawan City on April 1, 2016.

Thousands of drought-stricken farmers blocked the Davao-Cotabato highway to demand government help.

  1. The government is under no obligation to protect former President Benigno C. Aquino III from being arrested by the NPAs. Aquino stole hundreds of billions of pesos from the government; why doesn’t he use his stolen money to protect himself?

The Aquinos are excellent in making dramas; like his father who paid Rolando Galman to shoot him to make it appear he was assassinated. Now he is concocting this story that the NPA’s want to arrest him to give him an excuse to go into hiding to evade inevitable arrest and detention for his crimes as the President of the Philippines. Aquino plans to pay the NPAs to kidnap him as his father paid Rolando Galman to shoot him.

By paying the NPAs to kidnap him, Aquino III wants again to be a publicity hound. He hopes to elicit public sympathy to deflect the public outcry on the suffering he and his mother inflicted on the Filipino people by their brownouts, traffic jams and floods. Sorry, the Aquinos cannot fool the people forever.

The government successfully captured Bernabe Buscayno and Lt. Victor Corpus after only two years when Marcos declared Martial Law. Let’s see how our ex-President proves that he is better than Bernabe Buscayno and Lt. Victor Corpus when he plays hide and seek with the government. He may go into hiding by paying the NPAs to kidnap him but eventually he will be captured, detained, arraigned and made to face his charges in court.

The only time to stop abusive Presidents in office is to let them account for their crimes. Therefore, ex-President Benigno C. Aquino III should squarely face his charges in court like what Arroyo, Estrada and Marcos did and not to go on hiding by paying the NPAs to kidnap him.
