The country’s top swimmers will be vying for honors in the 45th leg of the Philippine Swimming League (PSL) Swimming Championships scheduled today at the Bonifacio Naval Station Swimming Pool in Taguig City.
The tournament, dubbed as the 1st Flag Officer in Command, Philippine Navy Novice and Motivational Swimming Event, is aiming to discover fresh talents, according to PSL President Susan Papa.
The PSL is also expected to announce today the name of the athletes who will be competing in the 2013 Singapore Swimming Championships in August.
Recently, the PSL organized an open water swimming event in Aklan with Paul Jerome Carpio and Camyl Evangelista dominating the boys and girls’ 18-over category, respectively.
Also earning gold medals in their respective events were Emanuel Joshua Lorbes (boys’ 15-17), Patricia Molino (girls’ 15-17), John Carlo Doragos (boys’ 13-14), Celine Delotabo (girls’ 13-14), Sean Terence Zamora (boys’ 11-12), Portia Kate Doragos (girls’ 11-12), Charles Ticbaen (boys’ 9-10), Sam Doragos (girls’ 9-10), Vaugn Aquino (boys’ 7-8), Jaz Villanueva (girls’ 7-8), Marc Bryan Dula (boys’ 6-under), and Micaela Jasmin Mojdeh (girls’ 6-under).
