The Philippine Swimming League (PSL) will be sending multi-awarded coach Ryan Robles to the 2014 AmericanSwimming Coaches Association World Clinic scheduled on September 8 to 14 at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront in Florida, US.
“We are sending Robles so that he can share to the PSL community the newest technologies and latest swimming program and clinic we have to know,” said PSL President Susan Papa.
Among the topics in the seven-day seminar are dryland for age group swimmers, character first clinic, swim meet coaching success, coaching the novice swim team, coaching school, stroke school, physiology school, leadership school, administration school and how to write workouts.
“Workout for age group swimmers will be beneficial for the PSL grassroots development program as well as stroke technical clinic and working successfully with the parents,” added Papa.
Robles was named Swimming Coach of the Year in 2013. He is the head coach of the Manila Central University (MCU)-R3 swimming club. He is currently handling the training program of multi-gold medallist Sean Terence Zamora of University of Santo Tomas.
The 14-year-old Zamora earned numerous gold medals in international competitions including in Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Under Robles, the MCU-R3 also won several overall championship titles in the regular PSL Leg Series.
