The Philippine Swimming League (PSL) continues its grassroots development program as it stages the 62nd PSL-Magnolia Motivational Swimming Meet on July 26 at the Diliman Preparatory School swimming pool in Quezon City.

The event is open to all swimmers ages 5-under, 6 to 16 and 17-over for boys and girls.

“This motivational program of the PSL helps a lot of coaches, parents and swimmers sustain their interest to continue to train, as they are very motivated as they keep on improving their times inch by inch in each competition and winning,” said PSL President Susan Papa.

Trophies and medals will be awarded to the Most Outstanding Swimmers. The champion team gets P3,000 and second placer P2,000 and the third, P1,000. Class C and Novice winners will be awarded medals and Most Outstanding Swimmer trophies separately while Heat winners will also be given medals, according to Papa.

“Even it is difficult for us to hold monthly competition for our newly found potential swimmers, we are keeping the program as our swimming community continue to multiply,” added Papa.

“Each month more coaches and swimmers coming in to the PSL, coaches and parents realized that we have better and efficient programs to offer. We are also open to all with free membership, meaning at no cost,” she added.

Deadline for submitting entries is July 19.

Besides the Motivational Swim Meet, the PSL will be holding its re-gular competition in Iloilo on August 16 to 17, in Legazpi City on August 23 and in Capiz in September.

The PSL is accredited by the Federation of School Sports of the Philippines, an affiliate to International University Sports Federation.
