Philippine Swimming League (PSL) standouts Kim Del Rosario and Joey Del Rosario copped 15 gold, three silver and one bronze medals in the 2016 Guam Youth Games International Swimming Championship held at the Leo Palace Resort in Guam.
Kim, a De La Salle-Zobel tanker, bagged 10 golds in the girls’ division including the 200m freestyle in 3:10.02, 200m Individual Medley in 3:24.84 and 50m breaststroke in 49.26.
She also dominated the 50m butterfly (38.98), 50m backstroke (44.88), 50m freestyle (37.08), 100m breaststroke (1:47.09), 100m butterfly (1:31.47), 100m backstroke (1:37.79) and 100m freestyle (1:23.75).
For his part, Joey won golds in the boys’ class highlighted by his golden feat in the 50m breaststroke (47.63), 50m butterfly (37.46) and 100m breaststroke (1:46.24). He also ruled the 100m butterfly (1:29.33) and 100m backstroke (1:36.03).
Joey added silver medals in the 200m freestyle (3:06.25), 200m IM (3:19.11) and 50m backstroke (43.50), and bronze in the 100m freestyle (1:21.62). He placed fourth in the 50m freestyle (36.68).
The Del Rosario siblings are products of PSL grassroots development program.
Recently, Joey claimed gold medals in the 2016 Bucaneer Invitational Swimming Championship in Tokyo, Japan.
“We are proud of the, Joey and Kim are members of the Susan Papa Swim Academy. They started with us and we’re happy to see them grow and win medals in international competitions. We are looking forward to their next competitions abroad,” stressed PSL President Susan Papa.
