US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Michael Klecheski led the ceremonial handover of 1.1 million library books to the Philippine Department of Education on December 11. The donation is part of the US government’s continuing early grade reading assistance through the United States Agency for International Development (USAid).

“The US government continues to support the Department of Education (DepEd) in our mutual goal of improving the quality of education in the Philippines, so that boys and girls can go to school and learn skills that are foundational to their development,” said Klecheski.
