• Publisher’s wife victimized by robbers


    A wife of a publisher of a daily tabloid was victimized by hold-uppers on Sunday while driving along Road 10, Tondo, Manila. Victim Leny Venancio, wife of Joey Venancio, owner of JGV Publishing House and publisher of Police Files, sought the help of Moriones Police right after the incident at 6 p.m. near the corner of Road 10 and Mabuhay Street. The suspect, a certain Allan Rey De Lara, 29, alias Noynoy Suyon, a member of Commando Gang, jobless, and resident of 205 Mabuhay Street, also in Tondo was immediately nabbed in a follow up operation. Supt. Jackson Tullao, commander of Moriones Police Station, dispatched three of his policemen led by PO2 Mark Joseph Vergara to track down the suspect who was seen standing along Road 10, waiting for another victim. The suspect, armed with deadly weapon, had destroyed the window of the vehicle to get into the car. The suspect allegedly took away Venancio’s jewelry it is unclear if the stolen item was recovered.
