Puentevella’s arraignment reset anew

The arraignment of former Rep. and now Mayor Monico Puentevella of Bacolod City in a graft case did not push through on Thursday. According to the defense, Puentevella was confined in a hospital on Wednesday. On the day before or May 12, the Bacolod City Health Office issued a medical certificate recommending him to rest for 10 days over “stress-related hypertension.” The Sandiganbayan’s Fourth Division reset anew the reading of the charge against Puentebella on May 22. The Ombudsman filed the graft charge last year against Puentebella, alleging he bought an information technology package for P26 million without calling for a public bidding.
